||The Cradle of Nubian Civilisation||

By late 50th and early 60th. the small picturesque junction town of Wadi Halfa used to recieve different groups of people travelling north to Egypt ferrying the Nile or south to different parts of Sudan by inland transport of Steamers,locomotives and lorries..Accompanying travellers to the railway station to bid them farewell was common and even exciting and interesting to young children.This was not the case with the young 10 yrs. boy Hassan when he saw all the people of his small town and neighbouring villages packed in railway carriages with their luggages, even goats and donkeys travelling to the new land at Khashm El gerba region of eastern Sudan . The scene seemed to several of his mates as an exciting fanatsy but not for him...

He couldn't understand how the nile,the date palm trees, the spacious colorful houses,the reliefs on the walls,the ornamented doors and gateways,the colorful stones, rocks and golden sand are being suddenly deserted..They told him that all shall be kept in the 'Mother Nile Womb' awaiting a ' miracuolus rebirth'. He had been told also that Nubian were used to such miraculus rebirth and that was how they managed to sustain difficulties and remain for over 10,000 years...

During the three days long cumbersome trip to the new land the memories of the picturesque 'collage' of all what left behind couldn't leave the young boy's mind... He wondered whither there had been similar 'wombs' like that of Mother Nile where he could keep all those memories.. For the next two decades or more he kept recalling those memories..They remained deep inside him..He realised that not only "Mother Nile' Womb" is the only ' safe-haven' for all those heritages but all 'him' remaind that 'safe-haven' ..By the time Hassan finished his studies of Anthropolgy at the University of Khartoum those memories were almost ready for the long awaited Nubian 'miraculus rebirth' through his fine, colorful,brilliant , unique artistic works and paintings..
